Glastron Carlson: Leader in Innovation

Glastron Carlson performance boat models have always been top of
the line and technologically advanced. In the 1950s, the company
was started and began producing boats from fiberglass. At the
time, fiberglass was a relatively new material. Over the years,
sales of Glastron Carlson performance boat models have continued
strong, as the company is known for its innovation and quality.

By the end of the 1950s, Glastron Carlson performance boat
models had grown in number from two to five. Now, the company
boasts 24 models. The company was the first to develop the
two-tone hull in 1960, creating a newer, classier look for
pleasure boats. These initial boats were made for fishing and
for pleasure. Now, of course, they are used for just about
everything related to playing on the water, including
waterskiing. Additionally, Glastron built the Bat Boat, which
was used in the 1960s Batman television series.

Glastron Carlson performance boat models reached the 100,000th
boat in 1970. During this decade, the company developed
vacuum-formed instrument panels and introduced mechanical
steering. The company built 26 Glastron Carlson performance boat
models for the use of the move Live and Let Die, a James Bond
classic that resulted in a world record boat jump and a stunt
that involved a boat flying over two police cars. Movie boats
for the James Bond franchise would follow in later years,
including a custom boat for the 1980 film Moonraker.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Glastron Carlson performance boat
models continued to experience innovation and advancement. Dual
duty fish and ski boats were introduced, and a fiberglass
stringer system was introduced. Wood parts of the construction
were minimized, and a multi-axial fiberglass fabric was used in
construction, making boats stronger as well as lighter. The
smaller reliance on wood also promotes the longevity of Glastron
boats.

Today, 14 of the 24 Glastron Carlson performance boat models are
built with VEC technology, which was developed a few years ago
in 2001. This is a closed-mold process that only enhance the
already high tech process used to create these boats. Glastron
rvrn makes boats now that include vacuums, carry-on
refrigerators, pop-up changing compartments, and air
compressors. And it is not only possible to own Glastron Carlson
performance boat models for riding in, but there is also a line
of small remote controlled model toy boats. These look just like
their larger counterparts, and can speed across the water almost
as well.
